SARASOTA COUNTY (WSNN) - A Suncoast company for students run by students is gaining local recognition.

The Florida Council on Economic Education is inducting Larissa Lippe, a Riverview High School senior, as a future hall-of-famer into the Tampa Bay Business Hall of Fame in May.

An award she’s receiving for a company she created called Smart Kids Tutor. It is a tutoring program run by high-achieving students to help their peers in grades K through 12.

One teenager from Tampa Bay is inducted every year, and Lippe is the second student to ever receive this award

"It is amazing!" Lippe said. "I’m so happy that I’m getting all of these amazing opportunities, having the chance to speak in front of these people. I get to go to the big business banquet in late May and give a speech in front of the most successful people within a 60-100 mile radius of here, I’m very excited!”

The induction ceremony is set for May 20th.

Some of the other people being inducted include the CEO of the Bank of Tampa and the President of St. Petersberg College.
